We continue to work with NOUNS, VERBS, and ADJECTIVES. We learned a lot about astronauts and space this week and identified many of these parts of speech. Next week we will focus on purposes for writing, friendly letters, and cause and effect.

Hello all,

Here is a document summarizing what we will be learning in the upcoming lesson before our first test:

We will have a quiz over the new material, then start preparing for the test. The test will cover pre-Colombian society, the establishment of the colonies, and the lead-up to the Revolutionary War.

We will continue going over our timeline, then we will watch a short video on the Boston Tea Party.

Hello all,

I guess some of us have been confused as to what exactly we are supposed to be learning through our study of the Declaration of Independence. I am including a complete lesson overview here:

So far we have learned about the different types of government and the philosophy of the Enlightenment that was behind many of the Founders’ ideas. Now we are learning about the actual events that led the Founders, inspired by these ideas, to do the unthinkable and declare independence from Great Britain. Understanding these events is critical to understanding the ideas behind our constitutional form of government.
