If your child did not turn in their e-learning project today, please have them turn it in ASAP!

Our spelling words this week are…..for, on, are, as, back, sack, black, snack, tack, track

Here are the directions for the Sutori assignment:

4th period is somewhat behind 7th period. 4th has not been assigned groups yet.

First, actually read your part of the Constitution! In your groups, you will search for a short YouTube video that explains your assigned Article. You will all watch the video, noting what you think is important.

  1. On Sutori, create a heading for your post (your heading will be whatever Article you were assigned). Include the names of those in your group.
  2. Create a short summary (one or two good paragraphs) explaining what your Article is about (what you learned from the video).
  3. Attach the video you chose.
  4. Attach an appropriate and relevant picture (this CAN be a meme or just something you think goes with your Article).
  5. For each member of the group, create a quiz over your Article.
  6. Search for and post a current event news article that is related to your assigned Article.

These are the directions for the Sutori assignment:

  1. Go to YouTube and find a video (recommended that you filter to find short videos) about your assigned event. Watch the video.
  2. Go to our Story on the Sutori website. Create a short summary (a solid paragraph) of your event in your own words.
  3. Attach your video to the timeline in the correct spot (chronological order).
  4. Find an attach an appropriate and relevant picture (memes are acceptable).
  5. Create a quiz (one for each if in a group) over your event.

Your post on the timeline should be in the proper order with the rest of the class. Make sure you include the date in the heading of your post. Please come to me with any issues. This is new technology for us so expect to find some kinks that need to be worked out.

Let’s be creative!

Today we will complete presentations of the board games.

Tomorrow there will be an opportunity for an extra credit assignment. Those who choose not to participate will begin on our next unit: Top Ten causes of death in the United States.

This topic will be the focus of the rest of the week.

Today we read the first lesson in our unit on Taking Charge of Your Health. Students created a “foldable” to aid in understanding and remembering some of the vocabulary words associated with decision-making.

Tomorrow, we will continue our discussion and work on decision-making and those things that influence it.

Wednesday, there will be a quiz over lesson one. After finishing the quiz, we will begin reading about setting and reaching goals. We will continue this topic for the rest of the week.

Where to Stash Your Cash: Develop a working definition for each of the following terms. Certificate of Deposit (CD), Savings Account, Money Market Account, Retirement Account, 529 Savings Account, Mutual Funds, Stocks, and Bonds.

Tomorrow, we will discover the definitions, the risks, the pros and cons for each of these types of savings. Then we will determine which type of savings is best for which life event(s).

Wednesday, we will discuss wants vs. needs and clarify how to make those determinations.

Thursday and Friday we will discuss how to assess and select banking partners.
