  • Tuesday – Discussion Question: What is your opinion on the state of our economy right now? Before answering the question you need to research this question. When responding to the question you need to attach a news article that supports your answer.
  • Wednesday – Read 2 student posts and the articles they used to support their answers and respond to their posts. Due Thursday.
  • Thursday – Zoom meeting at 5 PM. Discussing the economy today. Discussing the blog posts as a class. Zoom meeting link can be found on the Google Classroom Post.

Ethnic Studies

  • This week you will do a Primary Source Analysis of a 14th Amendment Case Study. You will research a case related to the 14th Amendment and present the facts of that case to the rest of the class in a short presentation. This will be due next Monday the 20th. You will have all week to work on this.
  • Tuesday Post: Post what case you are choosing on the discussion board, so I know what case you are working on. (Example: Brown v Board of Education).
  • Tuesday Post: Research a 14th Amendment Court Case and create a short 5-10 PPT Presentation on Google Slides and post on the “Presentation Turn In” Google Classroom Post. (Found on Google Classroom).

  • Great discussion by most of about last weeks Google Classroom Posts. We will have another zoom meeting on Thursday. This we week will be switching gears from Music to Television. More specifically cartoons.
  • Tuesday – Answer the following questions on the Google Classroom post. Who is the most iconic cartoon character in your opinion? Please respond with a picture and your argument why. We will be debating this on Thursday.
  • Wednesday – Pick a side on the Cartoon Debate. Scooby Doo or SpongeBob SquarePants. State what side you want for the debate.
  • Thursday – Zoom Debate Scooby Doo vs. SpongeBob SquarePants (Role of Television in today’s world. Zoom meeting Details are posted on Google Classroom. Zoom Meeting at 4 PM.

  • Tuesday – Google Classroom Question: We have been talking about credit cards in last weeks questions. Do you think credit card companies should stop collecting during the Covid-19 pandemic? Why or Why not?
  • Wednesday – Google Classroom Questions: Should Credit Card companies be signing people up during this pandemic, knowing that people might struggle to pay it back?
  • Thursday – Respond to the posts posted on the each question. There are only 3 people in this class, so you should not have to much work. I will be responding to your posts as well.

Psychology

  • Hello everyone. good job responding to the questions. Some of you still need to respond to “does wealth buy happiness?”. This week we will conduct a zoom debate on that question on Thursday. Tuesday and Wednesday are debate prep.
  • Tuesday – Pick a side to be on for the debate by responding to the multiple choice question on Google Classroom. Begin Prepping an argument for that side.
  • Wednesday – Prepping for debate argument
  • Thursday – Zoom meeting at 3. Find link on Google Classroom. If you cannot attend please post your viewpoint on the discussion page of the Google Classroom for Thursday.

AP Economics

  • Tuesday – Discussion/Research question posted on Google Classroom Define “public goods” and “tragedy of the commons”. What are the pros and cons of public goods? Should government make sure that public goods have appropriate funding?
  • Wednesday – Market failures and Externality video. Students will list a positive and negative externality for three different companies.
  • Thursday – Zoom discussion/debate on public goods and externalities. How much government intervention should be allowed to in the economy to support public goods and externalities? Video will posted if you cannot attend. Time will be determined throughout the week.

Ethnic Studies

  • Tuesday – Read the 14th Amendment and post your initial thoughts and ideas about what they think it means.
  • Wednesday – Define the four different parts of the 14th Amendment. What are the issues and concerns with each of these sections of the amendment. 1. Citizens 2. Privileges and Immunities 3. Due Process 4. Equal Protection of the Laws. This is posted as a word document that can be edited on Google Classroom.
  • Thursday – Read the Slaughterhouse Case synopsis and tell me who you side with. Did the government have the right to limit where people could work? This case will be a precursor to civil rights 14th Amendment Cases.

  • Tuesday – Discussion question. Who is the most influential musician/singer today? This is an opinion piece. Respond to at least two other students.
  • Wednesday – Zoom Discussion/Debate over the influence of rap/pop music on today’s youth. Not mandatory to attend, but will be posted as a video for future comments. Time to be determined this week.
  • Thursday – Watch the following two videos and answer the following question: Which music figure was bigger during their time period?

Economics

  • Tuesday – Basics of Credit Cards. Read through the short document posted on the google classroom and answer the discussion questions at the end of the document. We will be using these questions throughout the rest of the week.
  • Wednesday – Discussion. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages of having a credit card? Think about today’s economic situation when answering this question.
  • Thursday – Research and pick 4 credit cards that you would want in the future. Use the google doc sheet to help with this process. Just google best credit cards of 2020 and read through the pros and cons of each.

Psychology

  • Tuesday – We are switching from memory to emotions. To start this week, all I want you to do is answer the question below and respond to student who has a different answer then you. We will be doing some sort of meeting this week or next week about emotions.
    • Question: Do you think we are born knowing the emotions Anger and Joy, or do you think we learn them? Explain your reasoning.
  • Wednesday – Watch the Crash Course Video and answer the question: What role do emotions play in how we make decisions as a human species?
  • Thursday – Online debate prep. You have all weekend to respond to the following question below and respond to at least 2 different student posts. Monday I will divide the class into different debate teams so we can perform an online debate.

Hello everyone. If you did not start yesterday’s E-Learning assignment then you need to follow the instructions from yesterday first, and get signed into Google Classroom. I will be using google classroom for posting assignments and discussions. You can download google classroom on your phone as well. I highly recommend this.

All classes sign in via google drive classes from 3/30 post. If you can not sign into google drive follow the instructions from yesterday, and email me.

You will either have a video or small assignment to complete. This will be posted under the title “Welcome Back” on your google classroom.

Hello everybody. I hope you found someway to enjoy your Spring Break during these strange and difficult times. I hope you and your families are doing well. School is going to be very different for the next month or more as we switch to an online curriculum. I have been working on all these changes the last couple of weeks, but it will still take some time getting used to.

My classes will be utilizing Google Classroom, so if you have your computer or a smartphone, you will be able to access class material. If you do not have access to the internet I will get paper copies to you. Throughout this week, and the rest of the e-learning days be prepared to hear from me often through many different forms of communication.

Below you will find the information needed to join my google classrooms. Go to Google Classrooms online and join using the class code listed below for your class. You will be using the school google email provided to you. If you have forgotten this email or need the password reset then follow the instructions at the end of this post.

Once in the google classroom you need to answer the one multiple choice question available to you. This will let me know you have successfully joined the class.
